Abstract: Testing is an essential part of any successful software development. This tutorial gives an overview of both effective testing techniques and processes. It explores the subject from both an academic and an industrial perspective. Topics covered include test automation, test generation, test minimization and regression testing. It discusses the relation of testing to formal specification and covers the role of testing in the software lifecycle, examining test-driven development and agile methods.
Speaker bio: Andreas Leitner is an engineer in the productivity engineering department of Google. He received his PhD from ETH Zurich, Switzerland, where he worked on test and debug automation. He received his master from TU Graz, Austria.
